Just wanted to let everyone know that since I am now using a new version of the forum, the integration between the forum/photo gallery/blog probably won’t work. This just means you wont be able to log in and comment on the blog or upload/comment in the photo gallery. I hope to have this fixed within the next few days, so check back. You can still use your old user name and password to log in to the new forum.

Well I have had an interesting day and a not so interesting week. The fostering of my kitten, which I have named Caleb, is going well. He is walking now with his eyes fully open. He loves to chase after anything that moves and my cat Serena is not happy with him hogging all the attention, nonetheless chasing her around the kitchen. He still cannot see everything clearly and sometimes seems to have trouble coming to a sudden stop.

I have been trying to get a little editing done while I have a few minutes, but going over what I wrote about a year ago is overwhelming. As I read and write I learn more and the things I wrote seem more and more ghastly. When I started, I just wrote to write and I made many mistakes. I had a major POV problem and trying to rewrite most of it is taking a long time. After I edit the first half that I have written, I will continue to write the second half and hopefully be done with it before my teeth fall out and my bones become brittle.

Now for the exciting retelling of today’s events. As everyone close to me knows, my memory said bon voyage long ago (I wonder if it was ever really there to begin with), so I am often sidetracked and forget other things I have going. In this case, it was Caleb’s rubber nipples boiling on the stove that I forgot about. Until I heard the smoke alarm of course. Then it all came back to me and when I rushed into the kitchen, it was filled with smoke. The bottom of the pot was black and nothing remained but ash. When I rushed to open all the windows and doors, the cats sat safely on the back porch looking at me as if I was a nut case. It took hours to clear out all the smoke and smell of burnt rubber. A light dusting of ash covers everything in a 10-foot radius of the stove. This event brought me back to years ago when my older sister still lived here and did a similar thing while also trying to sterilize baby products.

Now it is off to bed, I have to be up at 4 to feed Caleb. Hopefully, I will be back in a few days to post something else of interest.
